“CANTANDO
L’ITALIA”
The
“Concerto/Spettacolo” show was officially inaugurated
in Warzaw (Poland) in October, 2003, in the framework of
the celebrations for the “Week of the Italian Language”,
organized by the Embassy of Italy (Ambassador Di Leo) and
the Italian Institute of Culture (Director Prof. Triscali).
The concert has been filmed by the two Polish public TV
Broadcasting Networks and was fully successful, according
to the public and the critics.
Through
the best songs of the Italian popular music, I like to involve
the public, in order to make even brighter the emotions
which some pieces provoke in our souls.
This is what I mean when I talk about “Concerto/Spettacolo”:
as an actress, as a singer, and above all as a woman, I
stage the enchanting seduction which the Italian language
is able to bring to our feelings, through sings and poems.
It is a path which will lead us to Naples, my Motherland,
and to the Neapolitan “canzone”: a historical,
magical, involving, international alchemy of sounds and
lyrics which are of incomparable appeal.
I start inviting the public to follow me in this travel all
over Italy listening to Paolo Conte’s “Via con
me”, going on with Fred Buscaglione’s seduction
of “Buonasera Signorina”, or Vittorio De Sica’s
“Parlami d’amore Mariù”, or perhaps
the charme of “Caruso”. We will remember Anna
Magnani by “Comme è bello fa’ l’amore
quanno è sera” and Renato Rascel by “Arrivederci
Roma”.
We
will sing a woman’s love with “Grande, grande,
grande” and “E se domani”. At the end,
we will reach my land with the Neapolitan classics, such
as Carosone’ swing in “Nun è peccato”,
“Anema e core” and “Torna a Surriento”
and many many other songs, in order to travel into our soul’s
heart and into our memories, and perhaps say goodbye dreaming
that we are flying (“Volare”!) towards …“O
sole mio”!
